Beach cottage Hilton Head Island

Custom designed second row for the beach home, in a gated plantation on Hilton Head Island. The site had its challenges, as I had to allow for an elevated pool in the rear and keep the house back from the main road, all while meeting the Architectural Review Board guidelines. We certainly pushed the site to its limits.

The house has two master suites, one on the first floor and another on the second floor, and has a total of 6 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There is also a central great room open to the kitchen and dining area. The clients expressed how they wished the plan to be as open as possible. We have a rear porch extending the length of the rear with a covered section.

We chose colors and materials which compliment the surrounding area with soft tones and hues. I worked closely with the client and we went through multiple design options, each honing in closer to the end result. We achieved a home with character, detail, and one that matches their lifestyle.
